Volvo S60
The smaller of the two options is the S60. It has room for up to five and a classy, sophisticated style. You have your choice between the Momentum, R-Design, Inscription, and Polestar Engineered trim levels.
Performance
There are four different powertrain setups available for the S60. The first, known as the T5, is a turbo 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that makes 250-horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. You can also go with the T6, which is that same engine that is supercharged as well as turbocharged. The result? These versions of the S60 make 316-horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque.
Going with the T8 engine means getting the same setup as the T6 plus electric motors. This plug-in hybrid brings you up to 400-horsepower and 472 pound-feet of torque. Finally, there are the T8 Polestar Engineered models. It is a higher output version that generates 415-horsepower and 498 pound-feet of torque.
The T5 engine is paired with front-wheel-drive. Any other engine option comes exclusively with all-wheel-drive.
Features
Being a luxury sedan, the S60 comes with a variety of great features for all trim levels. Standard on all models are nice touches such as LED headlights, heated front seats, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, dual-zone automatic climate control, and a panoramic sunroof. You also get selectable drive modes to help customize your experience driving in Derry and beyond.
There are also plenty of standard safety features in the S60. You'll get full-speed automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, a drowsy driver monitor, run-off road mitigation, and more. There are also plenty of high-tech features included for your convenience and entertainment. They include a vertical 9-inch touchscreen, 10-speaker sound system, and smartphone integration with both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
Volvo S90
If you require a full-size sedan with plenty of room to stretch out in, the S90 is the right choice for you. It, too, has ample space for up to five people. Although it is very similar to the S60 in many ways, there are some key differences other than their size to consider.
Performance
All three of the trim levels come with the same T6 engine that is available for the S60. It makes the exact same amount of horsepower and torque for the S90. All models of the S90 come with all-wheel-drive. The other available engine for the S90 is the plug-in hybrid T8 available for the S60. There is no Polestar Engineered version of the S90.
Features
The S90 is sold in Momentum, R-Design, and Inscription trim levels. Standard features for all trim levels are very similar to the S60 models by the same name. The S90 comes standard with luxurious touches such as leather upholstery, a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone automatic climate control, and LED headlights. Tech-wise, it also has a 9-inch vertical touchscreen. You'll find similar standard driver aids here as well.
Like the S60, moving up to a higher trim level of the S90 will mean getting more to love in your Volvo. Both the R-Design and Inscription add quad-zone automatic climate control and a 13-speaker audio system, for example. Available features on select trim levels include massaging front seats, a head-up display, and a surround-view parking camera system.
